The Edo State Police Command on Saturday hosted a Pull-Out Parade in honour of the Commissioner of Police, Umoru Peter Ozigi, who retired after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60.
The ceremony marked the exit of the CP from the State and the Nigeria Police Force.
The colorful ceremony was held at the Police Training School, Ogida, Benin City, and was graced by dignitaries from all works of life, including the Executive Governor of the State, Monday Okpebholo, who was represented by his Deputy, Dennis Idahosa.
Others are the Assistant Inpector-General of Police, Zone 5, Mr. Arungwa Nwazue, who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), DCP Promise Udeh, Heads of Sister Security Agencies in the State, Senior Police Officers, Stakeholders, friends and well-wishers.
The Deputy Governor, AIG Zone 5 and various speakers at the ceremony, congratulated CP Ozigi on his successful career in the Nigeria Police Force.
They wished him well in his future endeavours.
In his remarks, the Celebrant expressed his gratitude to the officers and men of the command for their support and cooperation during his tenure.
He also commended the government and people of Edo State for their partnership with the Police.
He urged Officers and men of the force to remain steadfast, serve with passion and to uphold all the values that defines the noble profession with the fear of God.
A statement by the Command Spokesman, CSP Moses Joel Yamu, noted that the State Police Command wished the outgene Commissioner of Police all the best in his future endeavours.
