A middle-aged man identified as Gospel Victor, has been arrested by operatives of the Edo State Police Command for allegedly raping a 15-years-old girl (name withheld).
The incident occurred on January 13, 2025, at Ewhohimi town, Esan South East Local Government Area of the State.
It was gathered that the suspect lured the minor into his room and forcefully had canal knowledge of her.
The victim’s shouting however attracted neighbours to the place, who discovered that she was being raped by the suspect.
Following a formal report by the family of the victim, police operatives took her to the hospital for treatment of injury she sustained in her vagina.
The State Police Command spokesman, CSP Moses Joel Yamu, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect would be charged to court at completion of investigation.
