A 17-year-old boy, Jamiu Adebayo, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s eight-year-old daughter (name withheld).
The incident occurred in the Aregbe area of Abeokuta, the State capital.
According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the suspect lured the victim into his parents’ sitting room, instructed her to remove her underwear, before defiling her.
The bubble burst when the victim’s mother simply identified as Olabode, noticed blood dripping from her private parts.
“I was away when neighbours called to inform me that blood was dripping from my daughter’s private parts,” Olabode allegedly said.
The police spokesperson disclosed that the suspect has been arrested and a comprehensive investigation is being conducted to determine the facts surrounding the crime.
